I am very excited to share that Gartner has released its 2021 Magic Quadrant (MQ) for Master Data Management (MDM) Solutions report this week, and have named Informatica a Leader for the fifth time in a row. The report positioned Informatica furthest on both the “ability to execute” as well as the “completeness of vision.” This achievement is truly a proud moment for us and a great validation of our innovation and our customers’ ability to succeed with Informatica MDM.
This recognition confirms Informatica’s continued global leadership, strength, and decades of experience in providing world-class master data management solutions for organizations worldwide.
We’re grateful to the more than 2500 customers who share our vision and who have helped make Informatica a recognized Leader. Informatica MDM helps solve mission-critical challenges organizations face around customer experience, digital commerce, supply chain resiliency, finance data management, and more. The result you see in the report is a true testament to the benefits our customers have achieved.
2020 was a challenging year for everyone. But here at Informatica, I was able to witness everything we have achieved together. In my view, we are able to continue to achieve this leadership position for the following reasons.
Product Innovation: In 2020, we delivered strong results, improved our delivery capabilities, and released many innovative releases every quarter across our MDM and 360 Solution portfolios. Our innovations primarily focused on cloud, AI, and making MDM easy to implement and use.
Business Solutions: Informatica offers pre-built solutions such as Customer 360, Product 360, Supplier 360, Reference 360, and Finance 360. We provide these solutions on-premises and cloud services, built to take advantage of the elasticity and flexibility of the ecosystem of your choice. Our solutions are underpinned with a microservices architecture and offer enterprise-scale and security.
Cloud-First, Cloud-Native: Organizations are rapidly moving to the cloud as they look to modernize and improve their data management. We’re leading with cloud-first, cloud-native strategy across our products with accelerated innovation to help our customers embrace cloud. In just the last 12 months, we’ve introduced new MDM solutions such as Reference 360, Finance 360, and Customer 360 on Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services.
Platform Approach: Our AI-powered Intelligent Data Platform (IDP) helps you unleash the value of data across your enterprise—and empowers you to solve your most complex problems. Informatica’s MDM and 360 Solutions are built on IDP. They offer an all-in-one solution with best-of-breed capabilities in a SaaS environment that’s easy to start, implement, manage, and scale. Informatica MDM customers benefit from the integrated data quality, data integration, data governance, business process management, and data security capabilities of IDP.
AI and Machine Learning for MDM: In August 2020, we acquired AI start-up GreenBay Technologies, a machine learning solution. By integrating GreenBay’s technology into our platform, we have added machine learning and AI techniques to automate data management tasks such as entity matching, schema matching, and metadata knowledge graphing. As a result, our 360 Solutions offer real-time, accurate, data-powered insights around customers, products, suppliers, finances, and more.
Customer Success: When it comes to products, services, and support, our customers are our number one priority—and why we’ve earned top marks in customer loyalty for 12 years in a row. Our consistent track record of successful MDM deployments delivers immense value for our customers: Hyatt delights guests; PUMA improves customer conversion rates; Unilever, BMW, and FDA manage global drug supply chains during COVID19.
So, why should you read the Gartner 2021 Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management Solutions?
This report represents critical research and the culmination of feedback from hundreds of customers who use MDM tools and solutions available in the market. For organizations starting an MDM initiative or reevaluating their current deployment, the top industry analysts at Gartner provide both valuable, in-depth analysis and a wide-angle view of the of all the competitors in the MDM space. By using a graphical treatment that segments each competitor into one of four different quadrants—Niche Players, Challengers, Visionaries, and Leaders—and then applying a standardized set of evaluation criteria, the MDM MQ helps you quickly ascertain how well each vendor has executed their stated vision and how well they are currently performing in the market. For example, while Leaders are identified because they execute well against their current vision and are well-positioned for tomorrow, Niche Players are placed as a result of their focus on only a small segment, or because they lack focus and cannot out-innovate or outperform others.
